Hi All,


As you can see the Forum is back up.  Unfortunately, since the server problems destroyed our data base of registered users, everyone must register again in order to use the Forum (Please note: in order to post on the forum you must activate the account by answering the email the website sends you).  Also, the forum module contains a minor bug which blacks out the “Submit Massage,” “Preview Message,” and “Cancel Message” buttons that appear just below the message composition window.  I am searching to find a work around to the problem; in the mean time, as you move the cursor over each blacked out button you will see an indication of what each button does in the beige bar just above the composition window.

Dear Friends,

The summer is over and we have returned from a wonderful two month camping trip through Newfoundland and Labrador.  Hopefully, your summer was as enjoyable.   As far as happenings at the Park and with the friends, here is a brief update.

Website

Although the website is up, you can see that it is not yet very functional.  This is because Grace has turned over the administration of the site to me.   Grace relinquished the administration because her dog training business has become a huge success leaving her with little time to devote to anything else.  Since I am a complete novice in Joomla (the management system for  the site) things will be quite bumpy until I can get up to speed - please be patient.  

Anniversary Celebration

Suffolk County Parks Dept. policy requires that the Friends of Blydenburgh Dog Park must post a $2 million insurance bond before we can organize an event.  We, along with Legislator Kennedy are trying to find a way around this.  Until and unless a solution is found the celebration cannot go forward.

Parking Lot Resurfacing                                                                                                                 

As you may remember resurfacing was supposed to commence in July.  Unfortunately, the cost of the material jumped significantly and the job is delayed until additional funds are allocated. 

 

I will try to get the forum up and running in the next several weeks. See you at the park.
